Wooster Square Cherry Blossom Festival
The 45th Annual Wooster Square Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on April 22 2018 at Wooster Square from 12 noon to 4:30 pm and will kickoff with a pre-festival concert at St. Michael’s Church on Saturday, April 21st at 7:30 pm.
This event has grown tremendously over the years from its meager beginnings in 1938 of a handful to neighbors to a major event in New Haven attracting thousand of visitors to see the cherry blossoms in all their magnificence.
There will be live entertainment onstage including big band music, jazz, opera and steel band:

You’ll find a great array of food and display vendors, a dedicated children’s area with lots of fun activities and a pet friendly environment.
Wooster Square is a neighborhood full of historic charm and very proud of its Italian American heritage, culture and cuisine. Much of the neighborhood and the square are included in the Wooster Square Historic District which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

The archway is an iconic image of the gateway to Wooster Street designed by sculptor Gar Waterman in the late 90’s.
